Canada welcomes skilled worker immigrants, and I hope that this Web site will provide you with helpful information from the initial application process until you find suitable job in Canada.

Let me describe you my personal experience about Canada with just one word. It is amazingly interesting J . Period. I came to Canada about four years ago after living in US for good number of years. It has been a tiny factor of time that I have spent here in Canada compared to time I spent in US, but I think it is sufficient enough to make an analogy between these two countries. Good OR bad!! It is up to you and how you perceive things in general.

Do you really want to migrate to Canada as a skilled worker?

YES! if you are having hard time maintaining your daily life due to your immigration status in USA despite your qualification and educational background.

NO! if you have just graduated and you can see the future in US job market and if you have high ambition in terms of pursuing higher education or land in competitive job market.

YES! If you do not care about money and can enjoy simple lifestyle maintaining all the luxuries which you have been maintaining in US

NO! if your financial goal is will above the average level and if you do not like laid back life style.

Well! If you are ready to apply, I assume you are mentally prepared. I will try to give you ample advices from scratch. Let us roll.

How to apply?

Applying for skilled immigrant visa is itself a fairly simple process where you should not require any legal assistance whatsoever. Please do not waste your money by hiring any lawyer or consulting with expensive thugs. However, if you want to make your life little easier, I will guide you through from point zero. Let us roll.

Step 1 – Online Assessment

Before you start filing an application form, please go to site to do online assessment and make sure you acquire minimum point.

Step 2 – The application form

The application form is always changing and you can always download the current application form. Never reproduce the hardcopy of the application kit your friend may provide. You can always download the current application kit by going to this site.

Filing an application firm is understandably easy.

Do not use your hand writing

You should always type. If your handwriting is unclear, it is highly likely that they may send your application kit back to you resulting the delay in the process. It should be thoroughly clear to naked eyes. You never know who handles your file. You do not want to take any chance.

Sufficient information

Always provide sufficient information about all the applicants (Primary & secondary).

Education

Information regarding your education should be pretty clear. As for an example, If you have four years of bachelors degree from US with Intermediate or +2 education from your home country, the total no. of educational years will be Sixteen (16). Clearly indicate the field of study of any degree you earned. Even if the degree is not completed, provide the no. of years you have completed so far.

Address

Please provide all the addresses you have lived in the past since you turned 18 till now. Please do not write incomplete address (e.g. 1568 Summerset , MA – USA)

Dates are the major errors.

Whenever you provide any information regarding your addresses or educational information, be careful while providing the dates. Do not leave any period of time unexplained. Even if you miss a day while giving your residential address or show gap in your education, they will send the application back inquiring about it.

I assume if you are careful, you may not encounter this 'time lag error' while giving details of your residential and educational details in US. However, you may not be able to provide continuous education while you were in your home country. I would suggest you to write a simple and short letter describing those gaps due to educational system in your home country. Do not write lengthy letter but it should be clear enough to explain those gaps while you jumped from one degree to another. E.g, explain your 6 months preparation for further study in US after you finished your degree in your home country. This holds true for your working experience as well. Even if you work in pizza place in school, provide the information as a job experience. I would rather not reveal anything which you may not be able to provide any information if asked in the future.

Spouse Information

If you have spouse who will accompany you in Canada, give all the detail information about your spouse. Her/His educational and residential information should be indicated in same fashion as of principal’s applicants (You). Again, the timeline in any given information should be carefully indicated as described above.

Parental Information

You can not sponsor your parents before you are qualified. However, they require you to fill immediate family information of you and your spouse. Immediate family includes siblings and parents. This information should include their full name, date of birth and current residential address.
